Terms

Terms of use.

The rules for using this site, its newsletter, its meeting booking and its chat.

  1. Who you are dealing with

fadymondy.com is a personal site and blog operated by Fady Mondy, based in Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt. It is not a company, and nothing here is a corporate service agreement.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not, please stop using it. Questions go to [email protected].

  2. Using the site

You may read, link to and quote the site. You may not attempt to break into it, scrape it in a way that degrades it for others, or use it to send spam through its forms.

The automated rate limits on the subscribe, booking and chat endpoints exist for that reason. Repeatedly tripping them may get your access blocked.

  3. Consulting enquiries

The services pages describe work I take on. Sending an enquiry, booking a call or discussing a project does not create a contract and does not reserve my time.

Scope, fees, timeline and ownership of deliverables are agreed separately in writing before any paid work starts. Anything on this site is indicative, not an offer.

  4. Booking a meeting

The booking form asks for your name and email, and optionally a phone number and notes about what you want to discuss. That is stored so the meeting can be confirmed and a calendar invite sent.

Please book a slot you intend to attend, and use the cancellation link in the confirmation email if plans change. Some booking options also run through cal.com, which is a third-party service with its own terms.

  5. The newsletter

The newsletter is double opt-in: after you submit your address you receive a confirmation email, and nothing else is sent until you click the link in it. An unconfirmed address stays pending and is never mailed a newsletter issue.

Every email carries an unsubscribe link and the standard List-Unsubscribe headers, so one click ends it. There is no sending schedule promised and no charge.

  6. The chat widget

The chat is a direct line to me, not a bot and not a support desk with a guaranteed response time. Messages are stored and I read them; replies come when I am available.

Do not send passwords, card numbers, or anyone else's personal data through it. Abusive or spam messages are deleted and the conversation closed.

  7. Content and intellectual property

Articles, notes, images and page designs on this site are mine unless credited otherwise. You may quote a reasonable extract with a link back; republishing a whole piece needs permission.

Code published in open-source repositories is governed by the licence in that repository, not by this page. Third-party logos and product marks belong to their owners.

  8. Availability

This is a personal site. It may go down, change, or lose features without notice, and parts of it are under active development.

If email delivery fails, a confirmation or booking notification may not arrive. Re-submitting re-issues it.

  9. No warranty, limited liability

The site and everything written on it is provided as is. Technical posts describe what worked for me; they are not professional advice for your situation and you use them at your own risk.

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for losses arising from use of the site, from downtime, or from third-party services it links to.

  10. Changes to these terms

These terms can change as the site changes. The date at the top of this page is the last time the text was materially edited.

Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated text.

  11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Cairo have jurisdiction over any dispute.

If any clause here turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
