If your Laravel site has a Filament admin panel, SEO usually ends up in two places: meta tags hard-coded in Blade, and Google Search Console open in another tab. `tomatophp/filament-seo` brings both into the panel.

**The short answer:** install `tomatophp/filament-seo`, run `php artisan filament-seo:install`, register `FilamentSeoPlugin` on your panel and add `@filamentSeo` to your layout's `<head>`. You get meta, Open Graph, Twitter and JSON-LD tags, SEO settings you edit in Filament, and optional Google Indexing API and Search Console integration. It's free and MIT-licensed.

## What it does

- Generates the standard SEO meta tags
- Generates Open Graph and Twitter card tags
- Generates JSON-LD tags
- Indexes CMS builder pages automatically
- Integrates with the Google Indexing API and the Search Console API
- Integrates with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
- Integrates with Axeptio for cookie consent

## Requirements

| Plugin | Filament | Laravel | PHP |
|--------|----------|---------|-----|
| 5.x | 5.x | 12.x – 13.x | 8.2+ |
| 1.x | 3.x | 10.x – 11.x | 8.1+ |

## Install it in four steps

```bash
composer require tomatophp/filament-seo
php artisan filament-seo:install
```

The settings are stored with [Filament Settings Hub](https://tomatophp.com/en/plugins/filament-settings-hub), which creates the `settings` table, so you don't need to publish the spatie/laravel-settings migration yourself.

Then register the plugin in `app/Providers/Filament/AdminPanelProvider.php`:

```php
->plugin(
    \TomatoPHP\FilamentSeo\FilamentSeoPlugin::make()
)
```

## Add the tags to your layout

Put the directive in the `<head>` of your public layout:

```html
@filamentSeo
```

For the meta tags, use the component:

```html
<x-filament-meta />
```

Pages that extend that layout set their own values with sections:

```html
@section('title', 'PAGE TITLE')
@section('description', 'PAGE DESCRIPTION')
@section('image', 'PAGE IMAGE')
```

The site-wide defaults come from the SEO settings page in your panel, so an editor can change them without a deploy.

## Connect Google

Set `GOOGLE_CREDENTIALS` in `.env` to the path of a Google service-account credentials file:

```dotenv
GOOGLE_CREDENTIALS=
```

The service account needs access to the [Indexing API](https://developers.google.com/search/apis/indexing-api/v3/quickstart) and the [Search Console API](https://developers.google.com/webmaster-tools/about), and it must be added as a user on your Search Console property.

## Honest limits

- **Meta Pixel and X ads aren't supported yet.** They're on the roadmap, not in the package.
- **The Indexing API isn't a shortcut for every page.** Google documents it for job-posting and livestream pages. For ordinary pages, a correct sitemap with real `lastmod` dates is still the main signal.
- **It's built for Blade.** The directives work in Blade layouts. If your public pages are an Inertia or SPA frontend, per-page tags need a different approach.
